Resolutions - Seasons - Goals

"If You Fail to Plan, You Plan to Fail" I heard somewhere once.

I've never been one to set "New Year's Resolutions". But for whatever reason it just seems to come natural to our way of thinking this time of year to asks ourselves "What things would I like to accomplish next year" as we reflect "What did I do last year?" followed by "Where'd the time go?"
The latter part of all that seems to prevail louder and louder the older we get.

I listen to my children as they announce their "hopeful" plans for next year and I envy the freedom they have to venture off to new and exciting places; school in Colorado followed by employment in any given city across the states, and mission trips to Mexico and New Zealand. And our youngest will be driving.... now there's a new adventure!

Oh to be young again and have the world at your disposal for new and glorious adventures! Oh the people they will meet! I am so very excited for all of them and can't wait to see thier pix and hear their stories!

As for me; after years of gallivanting all over this great nation and making friends wherever I roam, I am finally content to 'put down roots' and pay closer attention to what I have right in front of me.  In this "new season" of my life I'd like to seek new adventures in my own back yard.  All the usual goals will remain in place of course... more time & contact with family and friends, loose all the holiday pounds we accrued, and get a "real job"....

But in thinking about 'our plans' for this new up-in-coming-year.... something feels different somehow..... I can't put my finger on it.  As if any plans we make will take on greater importance than in any of the years past.  Like they will be more 'pressing' to actually accomplish this year. Time is always fleeting. Why would 2013 be any different than any of our years past?

Again, I've never been a resolutions person, but here goes: (I feel like I'm making a "tag list for life".)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God, Family, Friends, Job, Animals, Garden, Meal Prep, Crafting, Organization.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you set any Goals or make any resolutions last year?
Did you meet or exceed any of your own set expectations?
There are always some goals that get 'missed'.  Don't beat yourself up over it... reevaluate & add to 2013.
What are your Goals/Resolutions for 2013? (just really quick!)

HAVE A BLESSED HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!

The Holidays are Coming! The Holidays are Coming!

"Therefore encourage each other with these words." 1Thessalonians 4:18

Instead of me trying to re-invent the wheel today...
I'm juz gunna send y'all over to one of my favorite blogs that I try t'visit ever'a day!
"Tips to Stay On Budget Throughout the Holiday Season"
(click on the BLUE letters to link to websites!)

Who couldn't use more encouragement in THIS area?
If I think about it long enough... I may have something to add to her ideas.... but this gal is really great about doing her homework, covering her basis, and is open to receiving positive feedback.

Andrea Decker of Simply Organized Living ... is an amazing and energetic young mother with a lot of great organizing tips for home & family. I try to read her blog daily for a variety of fun motivational projects, get inspired to write something, or just to get another perspective on things as a woman and a mother. Reading her blog reminds me of myself at that age (but she is waaay cuter!), of how busy I used to be when my kids were small... and that I really DID do a Good Job as a wife and mother... after all! Thanks Andrea & keep up the Great Work!

Just by reading Andrea's blog over the past few weeks I've been able to "springboard" several concept ideas for future blog postings (none published yet) here on "Adventures in BFE." Most have nothing to do with anything she has written specifically... but just seem to have a lot of "ta-da" moments while reading which sends me into a writing frenzy that I've gotta write down before it vanishes!

So needless to say... she is encouraging for me (even though I'm sometimes jealous of how much energy can she exude through a computer monitor!)

Stay posted with www.simplyorganizedliving.com  as she usually has really cool GIVE AWAYS on the weekends!!!

Enjoy!!!
